Why I Love when Mercury is in Retrograde

Do you want to know 5 words I NEVER thought I’d say?

I’m grateful for Mercury Retrograde.

I know, I KNOW - It sounds crazy. But the truth is, Mercury Retrograde gets a bad rap. To be fair, this is because when Mercury is in retrograde, life and business can feel like a complete and utter disaster. Anything that could possibly go “wrong” seems to happen during Mercury Rx.

And it’s often One. Thing. After. Another.

But I want to share with you 3 things I’ve learned about Mercury Retrograde. These lessons have helped me learn how to handle the circumstances of Mercury Rx with more confidence, as well as to actually *appreciate* them.

When Mercury is in Retrograde, it forces us to slow down.

Which is something we don't do often enough.

The thing that bothers me *most* about hustle culture is the fact that slowing down and resting is VILIFIED. It’s turned into some sort of lack of discipline or labeled as laziness. And that’s a load of BS. EVERY human being has a divine right to slow down and rest… even you. Yet oftentimes because of hustle culture, we simply don’t.

We run ourselves into the ground, feeling guilty if we even *think* about stopping. But Mercury Rx always has other plans. When Mercury is in Retrograde it forces us to slow down, and it’s taught me that this is actually a very good thing.

Mercury Retrograde is an opportunity to reflect, refine, and revisit.

When we slow down, it gives us the opportunity to dig deeper and reflect on things in our lives and businesses.

It’s so easy to get caught up in going through the motions that we often miss these opportunities and as a result, we don’t change things when we should. We are ever changing and growing beings, and our businesses should be a reflection of that - So I'm thankful that Mercury Retrograde gives us the time and space to do so.

When Mercury is in Retrograde, it’s a reminder that things always work out - even in ways we don’t expect.

Don’t get me wrong, in the midst of Mercury Retrograde the above statement can feel like nothing more than wishful thinking.

This time around, I came down with COVID and was hospitalized for 24 hours because of it. Thankfully, I’m okay and feeling better, but even as I write this I am still having moments of mental and physical fatigue unlike any I’ve ever experienced before.

To be honest, it’s FRUSTRATING. And I’m having to continuously remind myself to find ease and grace knowing that my capacity right now is not what it normally is. But even in the midst of this, I know things are going to work out.

I know I’m learning things (like just how grateful I am that I took time away from work WITHOUT stressing about it!). I know I’m growing for the GOOD. So while sometimes the experiences during Mercury Retrograde suck (I’m not going to sugarcoat it), I’m incredibly grateful because I know it’s also a *transformative* time and that things always work out.

However you may feel about Mercury Rx, I hope these lessons I’ve learned (and continue to learn) are an encouragement to you.

I hope you’re able to see Mercury Rx as an opportunity to identify areas in your life and business that could use a little more ease and rest.

You truly deserve it.

I’d love to connect with you on this. I know this Mercury Rx has been really tough for people, so if it’s been the same for you, you’re not alone. I’m here for you in any capacity that I can be - Feel free to message me anytime on Instagram.
