10 Energetics Books to Have in Your Library

If you're anything like me, you like to learn – specifically when it comes to reading a good book. (When I was young, I dreamed of having a library like Belle. Perhaps the only reason I liked Beauty and the Beast?)

From the magnetic words of Paulo Coelho to the empowering wisdom of Chani Nicholas; I believe that we owe it to ourselves to use books as a way to ask the big questions and create a better, more compassionate life for ourselves.

So, when someone tells me they want to learn more about energetic modalities like Astrology, Ayurveda, Yoga or Human Design, I get giddy!

Here's a round up of the most powerful books I have used in my study of these topics, including why they might be the right choice for you:

Astrology Books

The Basics of Astrology: The Weekly Transit by Scott Tejerian

A clear, approachable guide to understanding the basics of astrology, including planets, aspects, houses and more. A perfect book for beginners. I started listening to Scott's podcast during Covid and have really enjoyed his practical take on Astrology in this book. I recommend it to a lot of my clients.

You Were Born for This by Chani Nicholas

Chani Nicholas combines astrology with empowering life guidance, offering readers a way to align personal insights with self-discovery and intention. I love Chani's mission. And her podcast. And her book. And her socials. All of it.

Ayurveda Books

Essential Ayurveda: What It Is and What It Can Do for You by Shubhra Krishan

A comprehensive, accessible introduction to Ayurveda, covering lifestyle, diet, and holistic practices to support health and balance. I read this during yoga teacher training and it gave me the foundational knowledge I continue to use to teach Ayurveda to this day.

Ayurveda and The Mind by Dr. David Frawley

This book explores the connection between mental states and Ayurvedic principles, offering insights and practices to balance the mind, reduce stress, and enhance clarity and emotional well-being. It's a heavy read, and I've had to put it down more than once, but it's good!

Yoga Books

(Note: I recognize that there are many classic yogic texts like The Bhagavad-Gita and the Yoga Sutras. I highly recommend those texts for people who are interested in a deep study of yoga and its traditions. The following texts are ones I found to be extremely insightful outside of these texts.)

Healing Mantras by Thomas Ashely-Farrand

An exploration of sound, vibration, and mindful intention, offering practical techniques to support emotional and energetic healing. This book changed my life and I still practice these mantras today.

Light on Life by B.K.S. Iyengar

A modern yoga classic that combines philosophy, anatomy, and personal insight, perfect for integrating yoga into your daily life. I've read this one twice and enjoy both the story and textbook aspects of it.

Human Design Books

Human Design: Discover the Person You Were Born to Be by Chetan Parkyn

A practical introduction to Human Design, helping you understand their unique energy blueprint and how to live in alignment with it. I bought a copy of this one and have highlights and notes in the margins!

Other Spiritual/Energetics Books

Radical Acceptance by Dr. Tara Brach

A guide to embracing ourselves fully, letting go of self-judgment, and cultivating compassion and mindfulness. I read this one every so often when I feel the weight of self-judgement on me like a smelly blanket.

You can buy Dr. Brach's book here.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

A concise, transformative framework for living with personal freedom, integrity, and conscious awareness. I keep coming back to this one.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

A poetic, captivating story about following your dreams, listening to your intuition, and embracing the journey of self-discovery. I've read this one at least four times. Of all the books I've ever read, this book changed the trajectory of my entire life at the tender age of 19. Anything by Paulo Coelho is good, but especially this one.

Books are more than just information – they’re companions on our journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation (at least they are for me!)

Whether you’re curious about the stars, exploring holistic practices, or simply looking to cultivate more wisdom in your life, these texts have guided, challenged, and inspired me in ways that I continue to count to this day.

Take your time with them, let them speak to you, read them more than once if you want to. But, most of all, allow yourself to integrate the lessons into your own life and maybe even your business, creativity, or spiritual practice.
